DVD's are Excellent and extreme attention to detail.

Scott, I have just finished getting through the three Dvd's I ordered from you.I found them to be excellent and they addressed all my current needs.I particularly liked the extreme attention to detail that you both demonstrated and explained with the various techniques covered by the Dvd's.

All too often much of the very fine detail is not properly explained in instructional Dvd's but not in your case.I would be interested in any future Dvd's you produce and would be happy if you informed me of such when they become available.

DVD's Exceeded my Expectations

I was eager to watch a bit of one, and since my wife was sitting in our livingroom I asked her if she could tolerate watching a bit of one. I cracked open the one for using handplanes and popped it into the player. It was great. My wife, who originally could not imagine how someone could find 'flattening boards' interesting, enjoyed the DVD. As for me, it exceeded my expectations. I look forward to watching the other DVD's.

Hi Scott, I got around to watching the two DVD's on Tool Preparation. They were really very good. After watching you take apart your new Record No. 7 Plane, file the parts and flatten the bottom, I feel a lot more confident about what it is that makes a plane work well and how I could go about improving the working of a poorly tuned plane. The fact that I have it on DVD is also very important because I will review it again before I prepare my plane.

Hello Scott. The dvd's arrived in great shape. They contain exactly the information I need as I make the transition from using mostly power tools to enjoying the experience of hand tools. It's great to be able to go back over the parts where I need multiple viewings. I look forward to reading new articles and viewing additional dvds.

Six new Dvd's under production.

Scott is currently filming and producing six new sensational dvd's detailing fine furniture making techniques in full.

These six dvd's will be available for purchase around March / April 2010 and will cover the following topics:

Joinery:

- Through and Half Lap Dovetails.

- Mortice & Tenon, Bridle, Long grain edge and Butt.

The following four dvd's are being filmed whilst making the beautiful sideboard detailed under the 'Latest Pojects' tab on this website:

- Carcass Construction.

- Making and Fitting Veneered Doors.

- Making and Fitting Piston Fit Drawers.

- Making and Fitting Cabinet Hardware.

Approval for Purpose Built Workshop/Gallery

On the 23rd of December 2009 Scott was granted permission from his local Council to build a 200sqm purpose built Fine Furniture Workshop and Gallery. The Workshop will be built at the front of Scott's 6 acre bush block in beautiful Yallingup, Western Australia. The building will have a large Hand Room where the workbenches are housed and all of the making takes place, a separate machine room to house all of the machinery and equipment, a separate finishing room, a 60sqm Gallery open to the public and an office.

Scott submits for his Building Licence on Monday the 18th of January 2010 and as soon as this is granted he will commence construction.

The Workshop will be able to cater for a large number of students and will cater for both Long Term and Short Term students.

Hi Scott,

I've now watched all 3, and very impressed - well structured and presented clearly, the techniques elegant and simple to perform(at least you make it look that way, I'm sure 15+ years experience helps). It's very refreshing to see this, when so much of the focus these days is on machines, plus it shows the results are far superior and do not take forever to achieve. Top stuff.
